, is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people attending our classes.


1. Commitment to Safeguarding


We believe that:


Children and young people should always be protected from harm.Everyone working with children has a responsibility to safeguard their welfare.All children should feel safe, respected, and able to enjoy physical activity in a supportive environment.


2. Responsibilities


Roberta Bass is the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and is DBS-checked and a registered healthcare professional (HCPC).She is responsible for managing any safeguarding concerns raised during Stretch and Shine classes.Any concerns or disclosures will be handled promptly, sensitively, and in accordance with safeguarding procedures.


3. Code of Conduct for Instructors


Always act professionally, respectfully, and as a role model.Physical contact may occur during games or exercises as part of the session. Instructors will ensure all contact is appropriate, explained clearly, and related to the safe and effective delivery of the class.Never be alone in a private space with a child unless unavoidable (e.g. for brief moments during pick-up or drop-off). In such cases, ensure the space is visible or accessible and the time is kept to a minimum.Maintain clear professional boundaries with children and parents at all times.


4. Parental Supervision


Minis (age 3–4): A parent/carer must remain in the studio and participate.Movers (age 4–7): A parent/carer must stay on site.Juniors (age 7–11): Parental presence is advised.Teens (age 11+): Parental presence is optional.


5. Responding to Concerns


If a safeguarding concern is raised:

6. Use of Images and Consent


Photographs or videos may occasionally be taken during classes for promotional purposes (e.g. on social media or marketing materials).Consent for image use will be obtained from a parent or legal guardian during registration.Consent can be withdrawn at any time, ideally in writing, to ensure records are updated accordingly.
